Asteroid Rush
Fly through an asteroid field – dodge the rocks or blast them apart, but watch out for the armoured ones. The core is solid; the reason to keep coming back is missing.

About the project
Asteroid Rush is built for short runs and that “just one more go” feeling. The ship holds the left side of the screen while the field rushes towards it, and every second is a choice: dodge, or blast the rock apart.
The game is written in plain JavaScript and Canvas, with no bundler. The game logic has no dependencies on the page, so a simulator can let bots play thousands of runs – which is how it turned out that “hold fire the whole time” doesn’t work.
What’s missing is the progression on top: something to unlock, and a leaderboard to measure yourself against.
Current state
What works
- Dodge or shoot – armoured asteroids can't be shot apart
- Laser heat, three shields and a near-miss bonus
- Combos up to x8 and five sectors that get faster and denser
- Best score, distance and combo saved on the device
- Keyboard, mouse and touch; installable and playable offline
What isn’t finished
- No upgrades or unlocks between runs
- No shared leaderboard – records live only on your own device
- English only – no Swedish version yet
- Built in two days, with only a handful of tests
Why is this project on BSite?
- Features are not complete yet
The core is tight and a restart takes less than a tenth of a second, but after a few runs there is nothing new to chase. It is shown here early in its life. With levels, upgrades or a shared leaderboard, it has what it takes to move back to EverydayGames.
Screenshots

A white and red spaceship fires at a large asteroid that bursts into a fireball, with +250 points above it and more rocks drifting through a purple nebula.
The ship skims past blue armoured asteroids with the text NEAR MISS +50, and score, combo, shields and laser heat along the top.
The SECTOR 3 CLEAR banner with bonus points and the next sector, Fragment Zone, as the ship flies on.
Development log
Moved to BSite. The game itself stays at the same address, everydaygames.se/asteroid-rush/.
Published on EverydayGames, balanced with bots that play through thousands of seconds of gameplay in just a few.
