Site B – the alternative venue
About BSite
The main sites are the A-side: polished apps and games that should work for everyone, every time. BSite is the B-side – the experiments, the prototypes and the projects shown earlier in their lifecycle. On purpose.
Why a place of its own?
Not every project gets finished in one go, and some never do. Yet there is often something worth showing: an idea that holds up, an engine that works, a game with three tables out of ten. Hiding it would be a shame. Pretending it is finished would be wrong.
BSite solves this by being honest. Every project shows what works, what is missing and why it is here. An unfinished project isn’t broken – it’s early. And the best ones get the chance to grow.
The lifecycle
The main track runs from idea to promoted. Paused and archived are side tracks – a project there also shows how far it got.
- Idea
- A thought, a problem or a wild idea. Nothing to run yet.
- Prototype
- Built quickly to test whether the idea holds up. Rough edges are expected.
- Alpha
- The core works, but features are missing and things may change.
- Beta
- Genuinely playable or usable. Being tested, refined and given feedback.
- Promoted
- Has made the leap to one of the main sites. Its history stays here.
- Paused
- Resting for now. What was built is still here and works as far as it goes.
- Archived
- No longer developed. Kept as history, and for the curious.
The quality gate
A project doesn’t normally move from BSite to a main site until it meets most of the list below. It isn’t a scorecard but a shared measure of what “finished” means across the ecosystem.
Function
- The core functionality is complete
- No “coming soon” parts presented as finished
- The primary user flow is tested
- Error situations are handled
Experience
- No obviously unfinished interface
- Responsive on mobile and desktop
- A well-crafted introduction for new users
- Production graphics, no placeholders
Accessibility and performance
- Keyboard navigation where relevant
- Basic accessibility checked
- No critical errors in the console
- Good loading performance
Publishing
- Meaningful metadata and an Open Graph image
- A stable address
- Privacy aspects documented
- A complete README
- Docker deployment works
When a project moves on, it stays here with the status Promoted and a link to its new home. The app or game itself never changes address just because its catalogue page moves.

BSite uses no cookies and has no sign-in. Visitor statistics come from a self-hosted Umami instance that stores no personal data: page views, which projects are opened and which filters are used – never what you search for.
